Two Wins Against Rays Are Just Not Enough
The Yankees entered yesterday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays riding a three-game winning streak, taking the first three games of this very important ten-game road trip they are now on. But, the Bombers lost 7-5 to the Rays last night, to fall 11 games behind the first place Rays; and 8 games behind the Boston Red Sox, as the season continues to fade away.
To state the obvious, with 22 games remaining, time is running out for the New York Yankees.
I open this forum for all your thoughts ...
-- How will the Yankees 2008 season end ?
-- What do the Yankees have to do to improve the team in 2009 ?
-- Are there any other concerns regarding the whole Yankees Organization ?
Let the discussion begin !!!
Don't count them out yet. Miracles happen!!!! The Jays are on a 8 game winning streak and might get in the post-season. Don't count them out too. They are on fire right now.

Hey, Chris ...
I will root for the Yankees right down to the end, and will always have hope for some kind of a miracle that they will make the playoffs. But, now that the Yanks have fallen into 4th place behind the Blue Jays, there are just too many teams in front of them [Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Twins], and too few games left in the season, for the Yankees to make any kind of comeback to be the "wild card" team in the playoffs ... I'm looking more to the 2009 season, and hoping it will not take a miracle for the Yankees to make it into the '09 post-season, the first year that they will play in the new Yankee Stadium !!! ... Chris, as always, thanks for visiting my Blog !!! ... Jimmy [27NYY]

Hi guys,
Just a quick question about the organization. Now I heard at the beginning of the season that George was sick, (having Hank in charge, and that offer to Torre) proves that. But when I saw him during the AllStar Game, drooling all over himself, having his wife or whomever getting the baseballs out for him, looking all doped up.. That's more then just old age. Anyone know anything??
A little thought of why we're not doing so well this year... Did anyone talk to the ghosts about moving?? I mean the Babe must be pretty ticked off that their tearing down his house..
Never give up, never give in, never show weakness, and never let them see you cry.. The yankees still have a shot... no matter how slim it might be...I still believe in them, I think they can do it...GO YANKEES!!!

Hi, prettyeyez ...
Thanks for the visit, and your comments and thoughts !!! ... Regarding George Steinbrenner's health: well, there really has not been any reports [that I have seen] about how serious Mr. Steinbrenner's health is; or, exactly what illness he has, or what his medical condition is ... The best that we can all do is keep George in our prayers; praying that he is not in any pain, and getting the best medical care possible that will help Mr. Steinbrenner be comfortable, and have the best quality of life he can under these circumstances ... One thing that has been reported, is that Mr. Steinbrenner does report to his office [on a regular basis] at the Yankees minor league complex in Tampa Bay ... So, that is a good sign that he is still [somewhat] involved in day-to-day operations of the Yankees ... But, other than the above information, there is not much other news to report on George M. Steinbrenner, III ... Just a side note: It was good to see George at this year's all-star game at Yankee Stadium. When he entered the field during the pre-game activities, he was with is son, Hal, and daughter, Jennifer, in the golf-cart that drove them on to the field ... Before this season ends, the Yankees should have a "Special Day" for Mr. Steinbrenner; and, I think, dedicate a "Monument" to him in centerfield ... If the old Yankee Stadium was "The House That Ruth Built", then certainly, the new Yankee Stadium is "The House That George M. Steinbrenner, III Built" !!! ... Also, the new Yankee Stadium is only across the street from the original Stadium, and will look very much like old Stadium, inside, and on the field. There will be a few changes, such as, home plate being about 20 feet closer to the stands [behind the plate]; and, some changes in centerfield, with new restaurants added ... There will also be many new "luxury suites" added all around the new Stadium ... The outside of the new Stadium, though, will look very much like the original Yankee Stadium -- that opened in 1923 ... The new Stadium will be awesome, but also way more expensive to attend games ... So, most of us will have to watch the games on the Yes Network, MLB.TV, MY9 in NY, cable TV, the Fox Network, etc. ... And, finally, prettyeyez, no matter what happens the rest of this season, we can always look to the great Yankees Tradition, and know that the Yankees have won 26 World Championships; and, are, and, will always be, the greatest team in the history of baseball, and in the history of all sports !!! ... As always, "Go Yankees" !!! ... Jimmy [27NYY] ...

kerripavan,
Well, like I said in my above comments, as Yankee fans, "we can always look to the great Yankees Tradition, and know that the Yankees have won 26 World Championships; and, are; and, will always be, the greatest team in the history of baseball, and in the history of all sports" ... 2009 will be the Yankees year, as we play at the new Yankee Stadium; and, win our 27th World Championship ... Go Yankees !!! Jimmy [27NYY]
